Print, A Quarterly Journal of the Graphic Arts, was a limited edition quarterly periodical begun in 1940 and continued under different names up to the present day as Print, a bimonthly American magazine about visual culture and design.
Brief - To analyse the magazine and find scope of imporvement
Scope - The Magazine is a visual chaos. It is difficult for a reader to go through the magazine with ease. The layout is not very clean and consistent. Magazine layout does not compliment the content.
Readability is not taken into consideration.
Redesign - Maintain a visual language. Create heirarchy, capture the attention of the reader, make it easy and comfortable for the reader to go through the magazine. Give more emphasis to the content
and keep the design layout clean and crisp.
A 12 column (LCM) grid is used for flexible layouts, that can help differentiate between the department articles and the featured articles.
